Closed it is 31.5 in (800 mm) across, which clears a standard side gate. Once through, it opens to 37.4 in (950 mm) so it is stable enough to dig against rather than tipping toward the trench.

Will it fit through a side gate?
The chassis telescopes: 31.5 in (800 mm) closed and 37.4 in (950 mm) open. A typical residential side gate opening is 30 to 36 in, so it fits the great majority with the tracks retracted. Measure the narrowest point on the route, which is usually a gate post, an AC condenser or a meter rather than the gate itself.
How deep will it dig?
5 ft 2 in (1,580 mm) maximum digging depth, 4 ft 5 in (1,340 mm) vertical, with a reach of 9 ft 12 in (3,040 mm) at ground level. That covers drainage, footings for a shed or addition, ponds and utility trenches.
How do I get it to site?
1,984 lb (900 kg) operating weight, so a braked utility trailer rated for a ton or more will carry it. Check the trailer's GVWR plate and your tow vehicle's rating before loading.
Which attachments are included?
The machine ships with its standard bucket. The breaker, auger, grapple, rake, ripper, quick hitch and the wider buckets are separate — current prices are listed on this page. Ask us to add any of them to your order.
Do I need a license or a card?
No federal license to own or use one on your own property. For paid work on a commercial site, OSHA 29 CFR 1926 requires operators to be trained and competent, and most general contractors will want evidence of that training before you go to work. Call 811 before you dig, every time — it is free and it is the law in every state. We do not provide certification.
Is the engine EPA certified for sale in the US?
We confirm the engine's EPA emissions certification, and its CARB status if you are in California, in writing before you order. Ask us and we will send it rather than state it here before we can evidence it.
